ALWAYS HAVE A GOOD NOTEBOOK:
A note book can be the best tool in your toolbox. This is true in any form of motor sports. The day you pick up your motor from your engine builder, make note of specific parts and part numbers, used in your motor. Note your settings and clearances, time, valve lash, plug gap and fuel settings. Even keep track of the percentages of leakage on metering valves. If you are having any trouble with your engine, it is important to see where there are any changes.
At the track you should keep notes on anything you do for setup at each individual track. This will help you understand what works or doesn’t work for different conditions. If you make a good effort to keep good notes you will see how helpful it will be.
