Clear View Filtration
Priming System, High Pressure, Mighty Prime, Add-on to 4 in. Filter Assemblie, , Clear Aluminum. Sold As Kit
Key Features & Benefits
Prevents Dry Starts : Builds oil pressure before ignition to minimize internal engine wear.
Drill-Operated : Uses a 5/16" hex shaft spun by a standard cordless hand drill.
Check Valve Protection : Includes a built-in one-way check valve to stop pressurized oil from flowing backward while the engine runs or returning to the pan.
Flexible Mounting : Mounts directly onto 4-inch Clear View filters or can be remote-mounted in the engine bay.
Universal Compatibility : Works with wet or dry sump setups, gasoline/alcohol engines, and select heavy-duty diesel applications.
Installation & Operation
Pre-Lubricating the Pump : Before first use, remove the two top 1/16" pipe plugs on the pump and squirt 4–5 pumps of clean engine oil inside to prime the gears.
Plumbing Location
Always install the feed on the unfiltered oil input side of the main filter system; never plumb it directly into the block galley after the filter
Safety Warning
Never spin or run the Mighty Prime pump while the vehicle's engine is actively running
Priming System Includes
Completely assembled Mighty Prime with -10 inlet fitting and one-way check valve installed
Primer mounting bracket with mounting bolts and directions
-12 O-Ring to -8 AN fitting
Priming System Features
Easily prime your oil system with a 5/16 in. socket and a cordless drill
Recommended for all Gasoline and Alcohol engines
Also recommended for pickup diesel engines, including Cummins, Duramax, and Power Stroke
Reduces engine part wear and failures by allowing high-pressure priming without running the engine
Small but powerful unit generates pressure comparable to engine start-up levels
System mounts directly to the vehicle
Draws oil from the oil pan or a dry sump tank using a -10 hose
Wet Sump Applications
Requires a -10 fitting (not included) welded to the oil pan
Oil is drawn from the pan using a -10 line (not included) into the Primer's side inlet fitting
Oil is pumped through the Primer body and exits via the one-way check valve on the bottom
A -8 line (not included) runs from the check valve to an unused port in the top of the See Through Filter assembly
One-way check valve prevents oil backflow when the engine is running
Includes a -12 O-Ring Boss to -8 AN fitting for the filter inlet port
Compatible with any filter system
Dry Sump Applications
Oil is drawn from the dry sump tank using a -10 line into the Primer’s side inlet fitting
A -10 fitting may need to be welded onto the tank if no extra port exists
Oil is pumped through the Primer and exits through the bottom check valve
A -8 line routes oil from the check valve to the unused port in the filter top
Includes a -12 O-Ring Boss to -8 AN fitting for the filter inlet port
If both inlet ports are in use, a T-fitting must be plumbed into one of the inlets or feed lines
Important Warnings
This high-pressure, high-volume Primer can empty 4 or more quarts of oil from the tank
Always warm up the engine after priming before running
Never run the Priming Pump while the engine is running – it may cause damage
Without a Clear View Filter
The system can be mounted remotely to suit any engine bay layout
Must feed the inlet side of the main filter system
Ensure proper oil flow direction through disposable filters to avoid damage
Never plumb into the block oil galley after the disposable filter
Primer must be installed before the disposable filter on the unfiltered oil side
If no block plug is available before the filter, switch to a remote filter system
Mounting Instructions
Bracket mounts to the bottom of the Mighty Prime housing and a 4 in. Clear View Filter using supplied bolts
Mounts the Primer next to the filter, extending approx. 2.25 in. from the filter’s edge
If not mounting to a Clear View Filter, user can fabricate tabs to use the bracket alone
Clear View Filtration Part BCS-470) Bracket (sold separately) for remote mounting
